§ 13-63. Violations.

  • (a)

    Any person who violates any provision of sections 13-51 through 13-61 shall be guilty of a class 4 misdemeanor. Any person who violates any provision of section 13-62 of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as provided in section 1-5. The license inspector shall have police powers while performing his duties under the provisions of this article. The license inspector may issue a citation, summons, or uniform traffic summons, or have a warrant of arrest issued for any person charging him with a violation of the provisions of this article, as provided by law, and may serve, or cause to be served, a copy of the citation, summons, or uniform traffic summons, or cause the warrant to be executed in the manner provided by law. Return of the citation, summons, uniform traffic summons or arrest warrant shall be made to the proper court as provided by law.

    (b)

    No violation of this article by the registered owner of the vehicle shall be discharged by payment of a fine except upon presentation of satisfactory evidence that the required registration fee has been paid.
