§ 15-22. Same—Prerequisites to issuance; advisory committee.

(a)

No such permit shall be issued by the board unless the board finds, at a public hearing on the question of the issuance of the permit, (i) that there is a need for the emergency medical service in the area to which the application applies and that such area is not being served efficiently by another person rendering emergency medical service, and (ii) that the applicant or applicants are trained, equipped and otherwise qualified in all respects to render emergency medical treatment in the area requested in the application.

(b)

The emergency medical services advisory council shall advise the board on any new application for a rescue squad.
