§ 18-98. Rate and volume of discharge of industrial waste.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to discharge a slug load of industrial waste into the sanitary sewer system.

    (b)

    Whenever deemed necessary, the director may require industrial users to restrict their discharge during peak flow periods, designate that certain wastewater be discharged only into specific sewers, relocate and/or consolidate points of discharge, separate sewage waste streams from industrial waste streams, and such other conditions as may be necessary to protect Chesterfield County's sewerage system and determine the industrial user's compliance with the requirements of this article.

    (c)

    The director may require any person discharging into Chesterfield County's sewerage system to install and maintain, on their property and at their expense, a suitable storage and flow-control facility to ensure equalization of flow. An individual wastewater discharge permit or a general permit may be issued solely for flow equalization.
