Article V. AUTHORITY OF COUNTY TO CONDEMN CERTAIN LAND TO PROVIDE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM  


The county of Chesterfield, or its designee, if such designee be a municipal corporation within the county, is hereby authorized and empowered to institute and conduct condemnation proceedings in the circuit court of said county against the Commonwealth of Virginia and the commission of game and inland fisheries, for the acquisition, for the purpose of providing a public water supply for said county or its designee, as the case may be, such right, title and interest as the commonwealth and the said commission may have in and to the water, and the land under the water, in the lake on Swift Creek, in said county, known as "Lakeview," such proceedings to be instituted and conducted in like manner as condemnation proceedings are authorized by law to be instituted and conducted by the state highway commissioner, for acquisition of land for highway purposes.
