§ 15-187. Application.
(a)
An applicant for a driver's permit shall provide all information the chief of police may request in the form of application.
(b)
Each applicant shall apply for a driver's permit in person and have his fingerprints taken, which fingerprints shall constitute a part of his application. Each applicant shall file with his application two recent photographs of himself of a size designated by the chief of police, one of which shall be attached to the application, and the other of which shall be attached to the permit.
(c)
The applicant will provide written authorization to conduct a background investigation of the applicant, including fingerprints and personal descriptive information for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record information, the costs of which shall be borne by the applicant. The fingerprints shall be forwarded to Virginia State Police for processing through the Central Criminal Records Exchange to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as authorized by Code of Virginia, § 15.2-1503.1.
