§ 4-33. Displaying receipts; dogs to wear tags.

  • Dog license receipts shall be preserved by the licensees and exhibited promptly on request by any animal warden or other officer. The dog's owner shall securely fasten the license tag and the current rabies tag to a substantial collar worn by such dog. It shall be unlawful for the owner to permit any dog four months old or over to be off his premises without a current license and rabies tag. The dog's owner may remove the collar and tags required by this section:

    (1)

    When the dog is competing in a dog show;

    (2)

    When the dog has a skin condition which would be exacerbated by the wearing of a collar;

    (3)

    When the dog is confined; or

    (4)

    When the dog is under the immediate control of its owner.
